No, I am not a native speaker of English. Of course I understood your joke, but it appears you missed mine, namely, my ironizing on the theme of sociobiology, a (pseudo?) scientific discipline which purports to explaining all human and social interaction on the basis of genetic (biological) determinism and reductionism. Or you are just pretending that you missed my joke, for the sake of...joke?
I was mocking the biological determinism, the opposite dogma of the one you jokingly referred to, namely, that humans are solely determined by their environment and economic circumstances.
One former member of the now extinct internet disease known as forum herpes. Guess which one.
PS. It is highly improbable that your real name in real life is Llywarch Hen.
It is only a small particle of truth. These impulses are present, but there always exist a possibility not to follow them.

It allows it in any case. And this alone makes it a negative trait.I wonder what dictionary Svanhild is using. Submissiveness translates to Unterwürfigkeit in German, and this meaning is quite clear. That dictionary definition that you found is severely limited to the point of being misleading... as quick and overly simplistic dictionary definitions often are.

"If Germany re-establishes her trade in the next 50 years, we shall have fought the war (WW1) in vain."
Winston Churchill interviewed by the London Times in 1919
"This is not a peace. It is an armistice for twenty years"
French marshal Ferdinand Foch on the Treaty of Versailles in 1919
"Our ideal is to round Poland off with frontiers on the Oder in the West and the Neisse in Lausatia, and to reincorporate Prussia, from the Pregel to the Spree. In this war no prisoners will be taken, there will be no room for humanitarian feelings. We shall surprise the whole world in our war with Germany."
Polish newspaper Mosarstwowiecz (1930), three years before Hitler's rise to power.
