Why we use lump part non-White part White person into specific non-White category alone?

Bruce Lee's Gypsy thread made me realize one thing why White people fail to recognize even 3/4 White 1/4 other (anything like Gypsy, Indian, Asian, Black, even-Jewish) as one of them; 1/2 White 1/2 Other-race person also deserves White recognition as much as 'other-race'; may be 1/4 White 3/4 Other-race could be ignored.

His thread made me to put 'White' as one parent and 'other-race-with-some-or-no-White' as other parent.
Why would any person wants to avoid any identity from one parent (say White)?

Of course mixed person is not full White but he/she isn't full Roma (anything else) either.

999/1000 white and 1/1000 Gypsy (Roma) is something that can be negotiated with.

I don't know who are you having on your mind when you say other-border-Whites nor what you mean by Whites, but sure, it should apply to all. Jews are also a broad category so I don't know where to put Euro Jews.
