Phenotypically and genetically? Brits and Germans, and it's not even close.

    Culturally, probably Spanish and Italian.

How is it 'not even close'? Not all of Italy is like your two favourite regions in the far South of the country you know.

No region of Italy really is phenotypically as a whole similar to Spain. Whereas there are parts of Britain where the overlap with Germans is very strong.

North Italians and Spanish don't really look alike either.

So if I were to ask Sardinia/Spain versus Yorkshire/Germany, would that be a more viable comparison in your opinion?

There are SW European types commonplace to both, but the lighter types are different (light Spaniards are often more British/Irish-like, while light North Italians are often more German/Austrian-like).

Yes. I think some Italians and Spanish can easily pass as one another but I don't think it is a consistent overlap unlike Britain and Germany.

Italians and Spaniards by far. Maybe I'm somewhat biased though.
"Reduce God to the attribute of nationality? … On the contrary, I elevate the nation to God…. The people is the body of God. Every nation is a nation only so long as it has its own particular God, excluding all other gods on earth without any possible reconciliation, so long as it believes that by its own God it will conquer and drive all other gods off the face of the earth." - Fyodor Dostoyevsky
