Scottish and Northern English are found by scientists to have bigger brains due to the climate.

Scientists found that a large percentage of people living in northern England and Scotland have larger skulls and eye sockets and larger brains too. This doesn't necessarily make a person more intelligent, (musicians are found by scientists to have the best brain quality), it's just they have more grey matter in the brain. It results from the eyes and brain adjusting over time to lower levels of sunlight.
