I've always thought that too. They do have a very neanderthaloid appearance. They also had much broader skulls than their ancient near eastern neighbours apparently, which is also consistent with neanderthal admixture.

People use the argument that on genomic tests, Jews don't score any higher than other groups of people. The problem with this is that phenotype does not always correspond to genetic composition. This issue is even more magnified in jews because most come from very tight gene pools.
