French. Franconia within Germany consisted of French-Germans, dialectly since it was practically on French territory. and for centuries, the Germans and French were neighbors and experienced similar transitions amongst one another. So, between Slavs & French? French..

Not any part of modern day Germany was "french" territory.

"Franks" were closer to germans actually.

Yes, the Franks that's what I meant. It's the same thing, Franks were modern-French.... Could've put that instead 'French' obviously the Franks were closer to the Germanic persona.

I don't think Bavaria was settled by sorbs or slavs. That would be eastern Germany and eastern Austria. Also some french might be closer to italians and iberians. I think french are divided in two genetic clusters, northern and southern.

There were some who eventually integrated into the German empire:

Yes, Eastern Germans are closer to Western Slavs, but not Germans in general. What % of total German population are East Germans?

Plus, not all West Slavs are uniform genetically, Slovaks, and Czechs are close, but Poles are closer to Belorussians than they are to Czechs genetically.

Anyhoo, as a whole genetically Germans are close to French, and remote to Slavs.

The numbers bear out your statement: http://www.semargl.me/en/dna/ydna/country/91/.
I have read though (perhaps here) that up to approximately 25% of eastern Germany is likely R1a.

Are Germans closer to Europeans or to British? That question is full of nonsense, just like yours.
