Irish soldiers' reputation was excellent in Europe. From the beginning of 16 th C. Spain and France began to contend for Irish services and even the Republic of Venice stressed their qualities. A rough land mirrored a tough people. When in 1598 Diego Brochero de Anaya wrote the Spanish King about the lack of sailors in the Armada, he did not hesitate and mentioned as a remedy.

So your own countryman said the Irish were tougher.

I've had my run ins with yourself in the past when you used to buddy up with that crazy Mexican-American but I've never lowered myself to your level and insulted all the Spanish. It's just bad sports to insult someone's ethnicity when you have disagreements.
Irish "soldiers" had fame of undisciplined and bad organized in the Spanish chronicles. For example in the battle of Kinsale, when Spaniards went to Ireland to help against English.

Lol at "Irish have done a lot for Spain"

Anyway it would just kill you to say anything complimentary. Just carry on as usual but I won't be taking much heed of you as you have never changed over the years. It's just a waste of time responding to you.

In the last link you can read many of those Irish lords and soldiers left Ireland after the battle and were allowed to settle in Spain. O´Donnell, O´Driscoll, lord of Castlehaven and O´Sullivan, lord of Berehaven, settled initially in Galicia.
It seems that Spain did more for Irish than the opposite
