I didn't hear it but even without hearing I can tell you that the Spanish accent and Greek accent is incredibly similar. Even many Spanish have said they have overheard Greek and thought it was Spanish that for some reason they were having trouble understanding.

I think Greek itself sounds Spanish, but a Greek speaking English sounds Slavic.

A Greek speaking English does not sound Slavic at all I think. Once I went to the Spanish embassy here in Korea and there was an Argentine woman speaking English to me. I tried to speak to her in Greek because I thought she was Greek.

But Greek accent sounds distinct. When I hear a Slavic accent I KNOW it's Slavic- I can't always divide which Slavic, but I can tell.

I don't think I confuse it with other accents, but it might be because I'm a bit familiar with it, since I have met Greek girls who are on Erasmus and, obviously, we always speak English with each other, and all of them had very thick Greek accent.

One time a few friends and I bumped into one of them, who was on the phone. She just said 'Greece', but a German girl understood 'Chris' because of the accent, so she took the phone from her and said a very funny 'helloooooooooooooooo'. As expected the person on the other side only said 'Ti? Ti?'....it was her mother.

Uncanny. This proves I went with the right choice without even having listened to the recording. Spanish and Greek accents are incredibly similar.
