I guess that mostly are from Veneto and Trentino.

Yes, particularly from Trentino (I'm referring to Nova Trento).

The numbers to Santa Catarina are smaller but the impact there was stronger IMO, since it was not that much populated, and entirely isolated communities grew out to become entire cities, the same thing happening in Rio Grande do Sul, and also (to a lower extent) in Espírito Santo (Venda Nova do Imigrante, f.e).
Hmm, I don't think so. In Santa Catarina they live in pockets. In São Paulo they became the bastions of culture and prosperity.

I think my mom has distant relations in Brazil... Either there or Argentina, I can't remember. Is the surname Macri common there?
(MacDonald) A custom fit resolves the differences above and says:

    Irish 0.2294 Tuscan 0.7706 or
    English 0.4437 Sicily 0.5563 or
    English 0.2799 Tuscan 0.7201 or
    Irish 0.3716 Sicily 0.6284

I was comparing it to Minas Gerais and Paraná. In Minas Gerais, f.e, the vast majority just married themselves out, and there are no cities or mainly Italian communities like in Santa Catarina. I am not denying how Italian São Paulo is. In my opinion, São Paulo is the center of Italian presence in Brazil. But you should visit those cities in Santa Catarina, like Nova Veneza and Nova Trento, they have kept amazingly Italian since they have been founded. I felt the same in Serra Gaúcha, in Rio Grande do Sul. For someone used to general Brazilian cultural and cities, it was quite a surprise to experience Italy here.

Macrì or Magri? Macrì is southern, Magri is northern.

Finally some ''colonial'' italians which look like real italians of Italy and not like middle eastern fags as the italian americans.

Isn't the main difference that Italian-Brazilians are mainly Northerners while Italian-Americans are mainly Southerners?
