Why Yankees don't like soccer?

I wonder why Yankees don't like associated football (called by them soccer). Here are some possible answers.

By the time Soccer reached it peak popularity in western world, Americans already had baseball, American football and basketball as their top most games. I think mostly full European Ice Hockey is 4th major game.

In other western countries, Soccer took the top spot b4 any other game did unlike in the US where Soccer entered as 5th or much lower ranked game and remain out of top four games till now

Because it's a sissy sport. We prefer sports where guys dont fall down crying for getting kicked in the shin.

today i heard in the radio that this WC had a huge audience in the USA...it seems they are starting to like it (their team has improved a lot)

what i dont understand is how can they like sports that nobody else in the world plays...No international competition seems boring..

Yes the more the National team Improves the more fans that are gained in the US. The real answer points to the last option but not in such a biased was, as Americans are winning many games, the US has simply left to win a major victory. Once that is done the popularity of Soccer will improve that much more.

Come on. You can get bitten if you play against Uruguay.
Besides, there is about 2 dozen players that have died in the field in the statistics of casualties of professional soccer. Most of them have died from heart attacks, but also for head collisions and other events. So, sissy sport isn't. Risk could be smaller but it isn't zero.
