The men in my sub-culture wear extremely heavy and artistic make-up for art purposes of expression.
I tend to keep it minimal enhancing the corners of my lashes and eyes with slight vamp flicks at the upper-corners of the eye, and slight smokey-grey eye shadow sometimes in the evening, but not all over the eye area. Normally I just like to shape my eyelashes and then wear a light coat of mascara during the daytime, a slight shading and shaping to my eyebrows, eyeliner (only to the outer corners), lip-liner, light touches of concealer, (sometimes I use a light foundation too but I only bother with that in the evening to brighten the face in the dark night hours), red lipstick (applied with a fine lip-brush) and a touch of finishing gloss... that is a golden rule in my religion of wearing bright red lipstick that contrasts with the skin shade on purpose (this is done for numerous reasons in our religion).
The females and also the guys I know wear make-up heavily and paint artistic drawings on themselves as a form of expression (they're very brave to do that) and very artistic hair-shades too, especially if they go on stage in bands in pubs. But there's other ones who keep the make-up down like I prefer to do myself, same with my hair.
I've done professional make-up classes and I spent a lot of money on professional brushes from SpaceNK and Charles Fox, so I know how to apply and blend the products properly. I don't like the plain-look and neither do my friends. It's not the aesthetic we're attracted to generally speaking in our sub-culture which views it as mediocre.
I have been outside wearing hardly any make-up to go to the shops or when I'm in a hurry, only a small amount of coloured lip-gloss and just basic eyeliner and mascara and I've received complements and so have my friends too. It doesn't bother me but I like to make an effort around the people I know in my sub-culture who like to be artistic. I don't wear much compared to many of the people in my sub-culture and community of people in the world. I am attracted to men who make an effort with their appearance and are creative with a lot of insight about the world. The guys I've dated wore eyeliner, foundation, black nail varnish, tattoos, leathers. I think it looks hot on them. They dyed their blond hair jet black like the night, along with their moustaches, goatee beards, eyelashes and eyebrows. I love that hair colour on guys, whether it's real or dyed.
Another really sweet guy I met in London who's handsome with blue eyes, strong jawline, caring, sweet, gorgeous face and nice skin and has a heart-melting smile... he went and coloured his hair bright pink. I didn't like that colour on him and preferred his naturally dark hair, but it's his own hair and choice and he's an artistic guy. Even with his new bright pink hair colour, I still love him for the lovely person that he is in his heart and soul. People might look at him and judge him by his hair, but he's a very gentle, passionate and caring person about helping endangered arctic animals and cares about saving the environment and is a lovely and sweet person.
