IDK man. In my experience, it can be VERY overused, but is good in moderation. Women like style and stuff and honestly, I like the product of it often-times. My girl looks good without makeup but when we are out and she is dressed up and has some makeup on, I actually like it. It also shows that she wants to look good for me. IDK I just personally like it. It's not a crutch though.

Women should be able to experiment with it, it is fun to many of them and artistic for certain people. Just ask Fortis.

IDK man that is a bit crazy. You are being sarcastic right? If that's what you are into, cool. But if that is the case, you really have no right to be pickin on makeup users at all. Saying one needs to have these very specific qualifications is just as "shallow" to many people, because if you think about it, it is just silly. If one is smart, they are simply smart. They don't need to know X amount of languages or have X amount of hobbies. My girl doesn't speak 3 languages but I know she is going to make a better wife and companion than a lot of girls I have met that do .

But actually you're wrong. Because looks are shallow and fade quickly. If I emphasised intelligence as much as you did looks (not saying either of us do) then I'm supporting the promotion of an actual directly valuable attribute, and you're supporting people spending too much time and money on trying to conform to certain ideals.

For me, if a girl uses makeup well and not to cover up her face that looks like The Nihilist, it is fine. In fact, it is a PLUS. It shows me that she cares about how she looks, but not the point of vanity. It shows that she wants to look well for me. It isn't necessarily a lacking of confidence. Who doesn't wanna look BETTER?!?! I do, even though I don't find myself to be ugly. I, of course, want to look better. Lose a few zits, get some abs, and I'd be like "that's a lot better... Now... Biceps!" LOL it just continues. I wanna look good for my girl because she deserves it. When she puts on makeup to go out, it shows she feels the same way, I guess.

Of course it's always been that way. It should change. What, when your wife is 55 and her looks have gone are you going to realise she has no other values and dump her for a younger model? Just because things have historically been a certain way doesn't mean they're good. I'd rather someone were intelligent and multilingual than pretty. Looks fade, especially after a pregnancy.
