Because Buddha could not count to more than 4!

Do you have a question on the matter at hand, or are you gonna troll still?

Good! What are you gonna do about it? You think trolling a Buddhist is gonna do the trick?

    Legit questions. Let's see.

Why 1 is 1, why noble is noble, why only 4? Sounds legit to me.

I will answer the one that is the least silly. Only 4 because that's all there is to it. Just like a doctor, identifies illness, its cause, determining if it's curable, and finally identifying and applying a cure. Same principle here, the only difference is it pertains to the mind not the body.

I was in the biggest Buddhist temple in Bangkok this year and I must say that I felt a spiritual feeling while I have nothing at all with Buddhism. Never really had that feeling in a church to be honest. Maybe it's worthy enough to study the philosophy a bit, is there a Buddhist here who is able to show me the right path ?

This thread is about the first one, it simply states all existence is suffering.

Suffering in Buddhidm is very important to understand. First off the Pali word is dukha, it's meaning is much broader than in English. Dukha is everything from a faint feeling that happiness will end when one is happy all the way to extreme physical, and mental pain like torture or heart break respectively.

This can be seen directly when one knows how to observe. For instane, you will see resistance of the mind any time you have to do something, or occurs something you consider unpleasant.

Before going too deep, let's see what you all think.

    Discuss.

    Of course there is.

    Here you go amigo:

    Buddhanet.net

The amount of study material there is overwhelming for someone just entering the path, start with the intro to Buddhism, there is a bunch of pdfs and other material on the subject, and progress from there. When in doubt ask questions. I know Theravada tradition, but I am sure there is someone here from Mahayana, or Tibetan traditions as well to answer your questions.

One book I can recommend you is "Mindfulness in Plain English". Google it, dowload it, read it. There are plenty others.

The Buddhist Suttras are a huge volume more than 30 Bibles, so it will take a while.

    Good luck on the path!

Let me write the question again.

Why are those truths considered noble? Wouldn't every truth be noble? Or there are truths that aren't considered noble as those four?
Is a lie with the intent of protecting someone noble too?

Thank you ! I already read the Qu'ran and the Bible, but I'm no so easily persuaded so it appears. I do have my own kind of believe system though which is more in line with the monotheistic faiths than anything else. All though I think that the only true religion of truth lies within ourselves, so we'll have to search deep within our own spirit to find the ''truth'' and no other believe system in the world can ever beat that enlightenment.

I've seen many advertisements from all kinds of ''religions'' on youtube and it's quite ridiculous that people take this dogmatic stuff serious..They must be mentally retarded or something similar.

I find it rather amusing to watch debates between religious people and atheists.

Then Buddhism will appeal to you as there is nothing to believe in, no God, no soul, not even your ego is consdered a real thing. You do seem to have the right mindset. Those who are not ready yet, make little to no progress on the path, you seem to be ready.
