Anyway, here's an opinion:



I'm conflicted when it comes to religious fundamentalism. On the one hand, religion can, and has, been used for the benefit of the world and its people. On the other hand, religious institutions (which many worshippers belong to, in addition to adhering to their religious tenets), just as any other organization, are subject to corruption; i.e. the few have the power to influence the many. This, IMO, should never be the case.

In conjunction with this, I believe that many followers of religion are, to a degree, brainwashed, although I think that's a bit of a harsh term. Religion, to me, is almost indiscernible from the mainstream media when it comes to this. Many fundamentalists (indicated through YouTube comments) claim to be more "woke" than those who follow the news and believe in their governments, but in my mind they're just as brainwashed, only to a different degree and in a different way.



I suppose my philosophy falls somewhere along the lines of never allowing another person to tell me what to do, without me at least receiving a viable justification for their request. Call me a healthy skeptic.

Immortality is totally overrated and actually the worst thing that could ever happen to you.
I don't want to sound depressed or nihilistic but Death is actually a blessing. Eternal life only means that you probably also have to suffer and work your ass off for eternity.

Even a life of eternal pleasure would be the hell after some time. It's actually a good thing that the universe is temporary and everything fades away.

Agree. It's easy to prase immortality when you're young and healthy... now... let's see if you'll still defend it if you're stuck in a place where no human being will ever reach you, or if you have an incurable disease that is extremely painful.
