Viola is just a shittier violin. One generally has parts written in alto clef (who the hell uses alto clef) the other uses treble clef (everyone knows how to read this, straight foward, easy), and also as a violist you will essentially always be playing second fiddle to a violinist, harmonizing with the violins versus being the solo instrument. The classical repertoire for violin is better than viola, and while, sure, you can transpose it down a fifth, why make yourself have to go through that effort in the first place? The viola is also a more expensive instrument to maintain, rehairings and strings are far more expensive.

This isn't quite unpopular, but I take a more extremist/militant stance than most: Obesity is utterly repulsive, and these people should be verbally shamed and harassed in public.


That's the only way this issue will be resolved.

Bullying someone is never right. You must be a nasty human being if you think otherwise. Making someone feels miserable does not help in losing weight as far as I am concerned.
