I see. I think that John and Mitch are the haggis variety.

People in Italy overcomplicate their cuisine. No, I should not call pasta with cream and bacon a carbonara, or put pineapple on my pizza, or use crappy shredded cheese instead of parmiggiano-regianno made from a cow called "Giovanna" in a distance of exactly 1km to the Ennio Tardini Stadium of Parma Calcio.

But some stuff they treat as deal-breakers are so arbitrary it gets ridiculous, and double standards are frequent. I saw some of them these days amazed with a really cheesy pizza a joint from Milan made, and if an Argentine does the same thing, they treat it as a blasphemy. I saw ITALIAN recipes for ragú alla bolognese that had half veal half pork, tomato paste and passata, and others that had only veal, an atom of tomato paste and anyone who dares to do differently is an apostate, also some pasta aberrations with a ton of heavy cream were perfectly Italian for some if a guy living there was doing it. If feels like one can never be really doing the right thing with pasta.

They seem to forget that Italy was a poor country who needed to make do with random local stuff, and the same holds true to diaspora food. Our sauces don't have the perfect three ingredient sofritto because it's hard to grow celery around here, our salami is probably seasoned very differently from the ones there because x, y or z can't be found around here, and the list goes on. It feels to me that even if my grandmother makes polenta, fritatta and radici, things you cannot get wrong anywhere, there will be always something wrong.

Led Zeppelin may have paved the way for most of Hard Rock and Metal, but the songs I've heard from them have nothing to write home about, compared to the further development of rock music.
I am mostly a listener of music, I can do only the basics on guitar. Maybe they are stuff for musicians.

Large black boba pearls are too dangerous to be enjoyable in bubble tea.
    =(^.^)=

Also I don't do classifications currently, sorry.

I only had bubble tea once years ago in Brazil, it came with some weird bubble that popped and had some syrup inside. The pearls you talk about are the tapioca ones?

Yes the large tapioca ones, there are other types of pearls which are way more pleasant to drink with bubble tea but are underrated imo.

They've been giving tapioca pearls steroids in North America then. We use tapioca pearls for a hot dessert with mulled wine called sagú, an they are tiny.
And indeed, from the chewy texture they have, it is really not safe and enjoyable for them to be large.

Now I feel like having boba, glad I don't live in a village anymore
