I was mostly raised by my mother. My father is not a a family type. My father would drive me around if I needed to go somewhere and he would come home for dinner or if he needed to borrow money.

I was raised by two parents. My dad was raised by his mother alone, and to an extent, his mother's family who denied the father or his family to visit my dad as a kid. He was severely abused physically and psychologically at the hands of his aunt's husband from the age of 6. Maybe earlier than that. He was an angry and bitter person for a long time, but has evolved from that.

My mother was given away at 8 months to her aunt to raise her because her mom gave birth to another child at that time. I heard that she was sickly because of this and my mom's aunt was the village mother, caring for all children. They began fighting over my mom when she was a young kid because my mom looked very white with her white features because of her German blood. My mother was a very beautiful child and a beautiful woman. She knows how to use this lol. My dad was telling me the other day that my mom was sweet when they met but now like a demon out of hell when she is anxious. I experienced that firsthand a lot now and recognize a lot of the phrases she uses on my dad to defend herself, she uses them on me now lol.

I know my parents love me. I also believe that I am dependable because they left me alone with the rest of the kids.

I think I used the negative image of my dad to build a negative ideal man that I would feel "safe" around.

At this age and of this mindset, I would rather be a single mother with strong ideals than a codependent parent who will pass out these same issues I feel.

I will write this down in a letter and seal it so I can remind myself to ask her when she is older how does she feel about having been raised by a single mother.

I've no idea what happened to Rachel after she gave birth, as I've never watched the show.
