    This map shows the boundary of 13th century Mongol Empire compared to today's Mongols. The red area shows where the majority of Mongolian speakers reside today.


    Interesting, I didn't know about that spot in southern Russia where Mongols live.

    Good question. I have no idea what that dot in Henan Province is, it may be a sub-group of the Mongols. Not specifically ethnic Mongol, but a branch, like the Dongxiang in Gansu province.
