I have noticed a certain subset of Italian users on these forums who wish to portray Spaniards as more exotic than they are, because they are somewhat envious of the fact that, although Mediterranean, the Spanish have a higher proportion of people who look Western European and that there is relatively little non-European ancestry amongst the Spanish by comparison to some regions of Italy.

Few obsessed and sociopathic users in web forums, on both sides, doesn't mean that Italians don't like Spaniards and viceversa.

In real life, Spain is one of favourite country in Europe by Italians.
