Republic of Venice lasted 1100 years afaik, starting in 697 AD that's the longest living government in all history, until Napoleon came and ended it. Venice is a city/region to visit. They are seafarer people by birth who did wonders on the sea incl. being first people to take down Byzantium, to create colonies as far as in Crimea and pushing their culture and customs on the others, not only their colonies (Croat coastliners, Greek islanders, some Albanians etc) but even Turks and many other people used Venetian coins as international exchange currency back in Middle Ages. They were good traders and having respect of all. A bit like Switzerland nowadays.
Venice was 2nd Rome in fact.

they dislike the Handling of questions by the central governement and would like more resources, better dedicated to them.
i'm sure if Italy was a federal state and and of course richer their two problems would be resolved and they would not even bother.

Most of them yes. Obviously there are always some who claim otherwise especially on the web.
