Not all european children are necessarily blonde, but it seems common across all euro groups that a child's hair will become a few shades darker as they mature.
I had light mousy brown hair as a child, but its now a very dark brown colour.

I'm barely European and I have light brown hair. Well, I used to blonde when I was little.

The majority have blonde hair or light brown hair up to 2 years. But I'd reddish-light brown hair, never had a shade of blonde. The dark hair is common too.
