    What do you think of the Men's Rights Movement? I think they raise some important points about rape culture being over emphasized to the point that some of the things that are treated as rape is insulting to actual victims of rape but I wonder why both feminists and MRMs have to see the world as a zero-sum power struggle between the genders instead of a cohesive partnership between the two in all their similarities and differences.

    What really confuses me are the women who are even more nuts about the cause than the men.

    Screw them both, implement an ideology and political system that renders them irrelevant.

    Women in the MRM are worried about their sons, and raising sons as single mothers. They don't want to raise their boys in the modern social environment, for good reason.

    They are mothers who fear for their young sons.

    I don't think of them. I'm more focused on National Socialism.

    I don't trust anyone who joins an ethnic/racial/gender civil rights movement in 2014.

    There is no such thing as a rape culture in the US and men do get the shorter end of the stick when it comes to alimony (no one should get ten years of alimony checks; get a job hippie) and visitation rights for their kid. Otherwise it's fine to be a man in the 21st century USA. I'll even say women have it more difficult in some ways. I can walk around without worrying about unwanted attention and women are more likely to be viewed as an easy target than a guy.

    That wasn't exactly the impression I got.

    Fully in agreement here.

    Things that MRM should work on:

    - Breaking down the stereotype of a 'good father' being one who goes out to work to provide for his family;
    - Breaking down traditional stereotypes of masculinity;
    - Making sure that men have the chance to gain legal custody of children in cases of divorce if they're fit to do so;
    - Increasing awareness of male rape/domestic violence and raising the profile of organizations that help male survivors.

    Things that make MRM come across as bullshit:

    - Saying that it's the job of the woman to protect herself from rape then complain because they are afraid of being out alone and assuming 'all men are rapists';
    - Wanting the right to legally opt out of paternity;
    - When they say that men are treated too harshly in case of rape allegation and facilitate perpetrator sympathising;
    - In general, the belief that straight, white men are the most oppressed and underrepresented class in society. Hell no!

    In conclusion, MRM would be more valid if they focused on problems that actually mattered and stopped bullshitting around and perpetuating male privilege.
