Colonial americans are much whiter and blonder than modern english. They are not as blonde as australians because they mostly are not actually english (saxon and viking) like the australians. There's a ton of germans and irish and scottish.

No, most European NZ'ers do not have Maori blood in even small amounts. However, almost every Maori alive has European genetic material in some small quantity. It is not as common as you suggest nor is race mixing.

NZ Europeans did not mix heavily with the Maori however, many did treat them well as neighbours and today, outstanding treaty grievences aside, we get on relatively well in comparison to many other colonised peoples.

And no, there are no pure blood Maori left. However, their was a recent case where a woman took a DNA test and even though she had European ancestors, the test showed none. She was hailed as the only pure blood Maori

The bulk of NZ's population is in the North Island so it stands to reason, more Maori and Polynesians would also inhabit the island too.

The NZ Maori team has only recently enforced rules that a player must have a documented ancestor who is Maori ( or part-Maori). It can be 1/64th and still be acceptable. You don't need to speak the language nor take part in their traditional and customary practices.

I didn't say most New Zealanders have Maori blood I said many, which is a very different thing.

Sometimes in NZ if can be easy assume Pacific Islanders who are numerous, as Maoris.

In any case Australians are fairer overall due to climate and an outdoor lifestyle, it is sunny literally all the time much of the year in many places.

Also lol who suggested surfers dye their hair, the continued sun exposure, and more especially, light refraction off the water which intensifies it, lightens hair.

Anyone that goes surfing or bodyboarding dying hair to look like this would be seen as a total chump, it is due to weather and light refraction on the water
