Russia's Maggie Thatcher. Clearly, Putin saved Russia from being a basket-case, like Britain in the late 1970s. However, this does not mean that Thatcher or Putin were the best thing ever. Looking at wealth disparity, and the democratic deficit, there is still much iniquity.

Russia land area: 17 098 242 km2
Monaco land area: 2,02km2
Russia GDP per Capita: 14 612$
Monaco GDP per Capita: 163 026$
Russia is 8 464 476X larger than Monaco
Yet it is 11X poorer than Monaco
Real good development right there
And the Gold reserves
Really competitive
Also, nice writing the salary in Rubles. Make it seem like a lot of money
Why dont say that the wage is 542 Euros.
And why dont you share the cost of basic necesity items so we can put the wage in a context
Nice try though. Get owned by Monaco
Hi everyone!

Well, Putin is an able leader, and a good one for his country (doesnt mean people should like him outside of Russia), but we should not forget that Russia before him was still in transition, it's social structures hit by chaos and corruption. What Putin did was bring order and get rid of some of the corrupt, that is, restoring order back to Russia. It might even be easy to get these results with a resource rich nation, out of transit and with an opened market.
