Funny he didn't post the average salaries and pensions in dollars or euros too, since no one(generally outside Russia) knows what a rubble is worth or how much it has lost in value since then. As a person who lives in Saint-Petersburg i can cofirm this words, during my childhood and early teens there were almost no tourist in the city, nowdays from spring to autumn i got a feeling that there is more tourists than natives on Nevsky prospekt.

I also saw that there are now many Russians abroad. Often where I live I can hear people speaking Russian on the street. There are also quite a lot of Russian tourists who come here.
