    Here as well. Those ending in -man, -stein, -berg.
    Those are very identifiable, because they usually have 'great meanings'
    Such as:
    Goldberg = Mountain of gold.
    Goldstein = Stone of gold.
    Weinstein = Stone of wine.
    Grossman = Big/Great man

    Another good example is Zuckerberg = Sugar mountain.

    Then wer also have some Polish ones ending in -ski.

    Here in the west, German surnames dominate along with the Anglo.
    Well, yeah. Germans are the #1 ethnicity in America.

    But not here.

    If your name ends in "-stein", "-man" or "-mann", it may as well be Rabinowitz in New York.

    I have a Borowski ancestor but she was not Jewish. Here usually surnames which end in "sky" rather than "ski" are Jewish, the latter being just Polish.

    Don't have much of a clue as most live down in London, where the money is. My only view is that of tele. So Cohen, ending in berg or stein, but that could be from America.

    Edit: Shouldn't be n the genetics section.

    As far as I know, -sky is Russian and -ski is Polish. However, it's like you've said; not all surnames ending in those suffixes are Jewish in origin.

    You're right. I've moved it to the Linguistics section .
