    The suffix -ski means you are a male. It happens only in both Americas or in Western Europe, not in Slavic lands. All females here bear -ska ending

    Yes, my ancestor was Borowska, but I know her father would obviously be a Borowski, and as a male I refer to it as such.

    People assume many Polish and German surnames are Jewish. Sometimes they are, but not always.

    I find it humorous how some Americans consider the -ski suffixes to sound Jewish. Must be because of Polish Jews migrating here.
