Brits/Irish. British Isles ancestry is still the majority of white american ancestry

I think white Americans are too diverse by region to just say British is the majority ancestry. For instance, in the mid west there is lots of German ancestry and French ancestry. In my state Louisiana, there is a very large amount of French ancestry.

White Americans also have French, Polish, Portuguese and Italian in the gene pool, along with others. But it depends on the region where the percentages fluctuate or if a certain ancestry is present. Like I live in the southern state of Louisiana where many, many people are a mixture of French and Spanish, but also some others have mixtures from German, Italian and Irish descent. In some other regions like the northeast, more people look Irish or Italian or Portuguese and in the northernmost central part of the country there is lots of Norwegian and Swedish descent. Now there are Russian immigrants here which will wound up mixing in too.


White Americans are too mixed up to look like one certain country in Europe. Some look more like Brits, others like French, some like Italian or Irish or some like Germans. Some look Polish. Just depends on the area, the family and even the individual. I know a family that is Irish and Italian mix and one brother looks ginger Irish and the other brother looks Southern Italian and they have the same parents. I know another set of siblings that are a mix of Spanish, French and Irish and they are twins but a male and female type twins (fraternal) and the girl looks Irish and the guy looks Spanish. Strange, but true.

it depends too much on the individual imo. Most white Americans have British/ Irish and German heritage but often some other admix too from various European countries. They tend to have their own look in many cases.
