The answer is : culturally no. Genetically however it depends which south slavs, it varies.

But I'm curious you as Romanian, what do you think?

    Genetically:

    - AUTOSOMAL - yes, Romanians inherited more Slavic DNA than Bulgarians, Macedonians, Montenegrins
    - Y-DNA - yes, Romanians have a huge percentage of Slavic R1a compared to Balkan Slavs (Varzari study on East Romania and Moldova finds 41% average of R1a)

it's all clear in the articles on Eurogenes, for example

note that even Hungarians score more Eastern European than Balkan Slavs. Slavs in the Balkans were only administrative elites but the bulk of the population is pre-Slavic, ancient Balkanic (Thracian, Illyrian, Dalmatian, Macedonian, Greek)

there is a population continuum in the Balkans with half of Romanians clustering with East-Central Europes (Slovenes, Hungarians, Croats) and half of them clustering with Balkans (Bulgarians, Serbs). there is no overlapping with Macedonians or Albanians

I also think that south Romanians (Wallachia, Dobrudja) are Balkanic in looks and customs while east Romanians (Moldova) are very Russian-like (they drink a lot and are a bit savage and have a lot of Ukrainian/Polish ancestry) while Transylvania is Central European by all means (history, customs, looks - huge Hungarian and Saxon influence)

I2-Dinaric is also largely linked to the slavs.

Autosomally, Romanians are more "northern" than Macedonians/Bulgarians on average but not Montenegrins who are more northern than them.

Yes, there are more Romanians and especially Moldovians who can look Slavic, being able to pass in Ukraine or Russia.
