I don't think it is realistic or possible. But if possible, then I would rather replace the Kaliningrad Oblast by Prussia.

BTW - after WW2 there were some suggestions to create a Jewish state in Kaliningrad Oblast, instead of Palestine.

I support it. Kaliningrad Oblast should become independent.

Yes there is and always will be a Prussian identity, even as someone that is a Grandson of a Prussian, I identify myself as Prussian, and many others do.

I think there was no rational strategic thinking anymore during Jelzin and late Gorbatschow years.

Nato probably thought Russia would end up being a new puppet State.
