Modern Dalmatians have little to do with old Dalmatians, because Slavs killed Illyrian population upon arriving from north. Some found shelter in coastal cities and assimilated/mixed, but I think most of their genetic legacy has been whiped out

The language of Dalatian Latin (not Italian) only went extinct in 1898- so I don't think it is unlikely to except some other continuity as well. It was an Western Balkan Romance language, and unlike Romanian and Albanian and Bulgarian it had a pre-article. Judging from the fact that Cimocowski says that Latin toponyms in Albania show Dalmatian Romance, sound changes rather than Albanian, I am guessing that these Dalmatian Illyrians extended further south into modern Albania.

Polomé (op. cit. 888) sees, with a conservative view, modern Albanian as a descendant of an illyrian' language of Dalmatia. It should be noted that 'Dalmatae' is traditionally linked with Alb. 'delme' (sheep), which makes some sense considering that Dalmatia's tribes practiced stock-breeding (Price 2006: 50). The Dalmatian personal name Ceunus has a feminine counterpart Ceuna , with a possible equation in Albanian cun 'boy'. Feminine nouns in a are abundant; one female name Dita equatea with Albanian ditë 'day' (Mann 1977: 4).

Dalmatian Illyrian tribe are modern Dalmatian, Herzegovian people.

They didn't disappear into thin air.

Just like with Anatolians they became part of another culture and different linguistic group.

Anatolia was the richest and the most densely populated part of Roman Empire where everyone spoke Greek and Latin, why do they speak Turkish today?

Why do 100 million African people in Africa speak French language?

    etc...

Because they were subjugated by the people who enforced their own language curricula.
