The defeatism kills me. The BNP is near enough in the same position that Labour was in the early 1900s. And look what happened to them! They eclipsed the old Liberals utterly, for a good 80 years. The BNP has the potential to do that with modern Labour, which seems to have done its best to estrange itself from its core demographic. It's little more than a career machine for the political classes now, and can't rely forever on the political inertia of the working classes. Record abstention levels are worrying the hell out of the Labour politicos.

And the problem that the BNP is set up to oppose is not going to get less worrying. Polarisation can only continue. IF we closed borders tomorrow, there'd still be an ethnic timebomb ticking away. Even if political Islam was neutralised, it would still take decades before metisation made division on ethnic lines a thing of the past.

In the old days, politics was about sectarian divisions, then political, then economic. Now is the time for identity politics. I don't expect a landslide BNP victory in May, but I do expect a doubling in votes. Touch wood!

Can I beg the abstainers to help out those of us who STILL see the point in demonstrating our disgust to the elites? Do it with a condescending wry smile at my folly, as you make that X, but PLEASE go out that day and vote for a NON-Lib/Lab/Con party!!! UKIP is better than no vote at all. Who else is there? Green is also an alternative. Just do something to witness your disgust! And if you're NOT disgusted with the big three, then Gods help you; you don't deserve to vote.

I’m mildly more sympathetic to the BNP than other parties but I won’t vote for them, I’ve had first hand experience enough of them not to trust them all that much (nor will I vote for anyone else) call it apathy if you like but I have no confidence in, respect for or time for the farce that passes for “democracy” in the UK. And, quite simply, I see no one at all who will do anything about it.
