My Great-Grandmother taught me how to play when I was younger, around 8 or 9, but since then I've never really played it regularly. I could probably count the times I've played since. I'm also probably horrible at it.

I play on chess.com and with the wife and friends all the time, though recently I have taken a break.

I've been getting better but I would not say I'm very good.

I play chess but haven't played in ages (played a few with Thrymheim a while ago on here -- you can play in the gameroom on Apricity).

Always played with my brother, but he wasn't a good sport (got angry when I beat him). He has won regional tournaments since.

Yes, I restarted to play online in 2005 after a period of absolute inactivity of five years, maybe more. My ELO ranges between 1000 and 1250 in Blizt, a little more on Standard games. I am usually a weak performer who seldom play nice games.

Why has chess continued to remain as popular?

It has the best condition a game can have: a interesting experience of gaming based on a affordable amount of easy rules. In fact I'm open to suggestions on others of similar characteristics.

I played a lot in college. Then skipped a few decades until my son started playing me. He is now in college so my mind can rest now. I have some friends that start up a game at a party occasionally. If I can concentrate enough, I usually do fairly well.
