The older generations bought up all the council housing too. It is impossible for someone like myself to aquire one, like what my parents and grandparents had.

For example this is the measures it took someone I knew to get one. A lassie had to list herself(pregnant) as homeless and live in a shelter. Before they gave her a place in the middle of nowhere.

'Right to buy'.. The buyout of most Public housing. It went on too long. Now we have an expensive housing market..

There is a different mindset. Back then people had the idea they had to work and build to get something, new generations just wait for someone to give them and whine about it in the meantime. I guess the parent did not do a good job teaching those values.

My parents bought a house for over $30K~40K, how much do you think I paid for mine? Not double, or triple, far more than that, but when I was your age I was more worried about how to make it than to whine about it. It is the same thing that everyone has done for generations.

I agree. No wonder 50% of Britain is now using anti-depressants (myself included). It doesn't help that the younger generation isn't turning out to vote in elections either.
