Bump, does anyone have example of unique holiday not based on religious figures or battles? I'm curious.

Albanians have ''Dita e veres'' transl. to ''Summer day''... Don't you have a similar thing?

In Poland we celebrate name-day and organise name-day party (it's taken from the feast day of your saint - the one that you are supposed to have your name taken after). This tradition is though only vital among older generations, normally your ordinary friends don't know when do you have it as there are usually many different datas for every name.

Name days are very different from slava, but it counts as unique I guess except Bulgarians, Macedonians and Russians do this too.

To me "Summer day" is like a religious (in this case pagan) holiday. You're celebrating a season.
