Your estimate is very close to this estimate (the one for 2010):

I made this graph (legend is below) showing 1st ancestry responses:

Ancestry not reported - people who did not report any ancestry
Uncodeable entry - ancestry reported but impossible to read
Religious response - I suppose answers like "Jewish" are included here
Names of U.S. states - responses like "Virginian" or "Californian"
Mixed - includes responses such as "my ancestry is mixed".

Can, Aus, NZ - Canada, Australia, New Zealand
BIS - British Isles (English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, etc.)
CEu - Central Europe (mostly German ancestry)
WEu - Western Europe (includes South-Western Europe)
EEu - Eastern Europe (Polish is the largest ancestry here)
Scn - Scandinavian 1st ancestries (including Finnish)
Balk - Balkanic ancestries (South-Eastern Europe)
Generic Eu - reports like "European", etc.

NAfr, MEast - North African, Middle Eastern
SE Asia - South-East Asian ancestries
India, S Asia - India and South Asia
CeAm, SAm, WIndies - Central & South Americas, West Indies
    Sub-Sah Afr - Sub-Saharan African ancestries
    Pacific - Pacific Islanders, Oceanians

Native Am - Amerindian (Native Americans from both continents)

    =============================

The most mysterious issue is what are the ancestries of people who did not report their ancestries? And what is the racial / continental breakdown among them (how many of them are European-Americans)?

    Nice work!

FYI, a lot of Hispanics in America who mark "White" on the census are actually mestizo or castizo

Hi, I have done a new globla estimation for white population:

First of showing the information I want to punctualize some points:

    1) I consider white a person with at leas 88.5% european genes. This description of whiteness was first instored by the first spanish colonizers in America in the XVI century (casta system), and in my opinion it´s the limit between having an exotic (mixed) physical appearence or not. It´s widenly used between extra-european populations as the Latin American Whites, many self consideared Native Americans of Métis or many eastern Russians.

    2) I consider arab christians (except egyptian copts), yazidis, druze, zoroastrians and shabaks (and their diaspora all around the world) as part of the White family because they have not admixed with black slaves and arabian-turkic conquerors as their muslims neighbours, so they retain their original caucasian genetic. In the same way I consider many turkish of balkanic origin as whites, but I can´t do exact estimations of how many berberic whites there are (Riffians, Kabyles, Chaouis) because berberic is not a racial classification, only linguistical one, there are white and non-white berbers even into the same tribe.

    3) In most cases I have used national censuses and immigration statistics to determine the number of whites in any country. In other cases as these dates are not reliable (mainly Latin America, as Latin Americans in the USA) I just have done estimations taking into account the DNA studies done at the moment (people with more than 88.5% of european genetics)

    4) I had problems to classify some peoples in Balkans (Balkanian Turks, I finally have not classified them as white) and in Northern Caucasus and Ural Region in Russia. I have classified most of north-caucasian peoples as Chechens and others as white, the same for the 80% of Tatars (Tatars have 85% european genetics) and most ugro-finnic peoples. Gypsies are not counted as whites.

    5) I have classified Jews as whites in most countries in the world, but I´m still working in the amount of whites in the proper Israel, I don´t know actually if classify Mizrahi Jews as whites.

With this punctualliations done I begin to expose the dates:

White, clearly, same as Finns and Magyars, but their numbers are so low that I don't think it matters to the overall total.
