    All dictatorships are awful for any nation, but for some reason the Southern Cone got to get back on their feet faster than Central American countries. I don't know the internal facts on why that happened, but nowadays the Southern Cone is way better -socially and economically- than the central american countries. That's why I'm voting for Central America on the poll.

    Southern Cone: Argentina, (south of) Brazil, Chile, Uruguay.

    One interesting fact on the dictatorship in Uruguay, is the guerrilleros that got incarcerated and torturated during that time were voted to be in power 30 something years later, for example ex-president Jose Mujica.

    Alnorte I hate dictators but those 30.000 is a symbolic number (most ONGS say between 8.000 and 9.000) and it wasn't proved by facts.

    IMO both were bastards, the military junta and terrorists in equal.
