Yes, of course. But again, what type of Turanist? Proud Hungarians? József Attila was a good example onto this. Hungarian imperialist? No, the communits rejected the imperialism.

I don´t think I´ve ever heard of József Attila.. Whatever didn´t Janos Kadar, the communist president, sometimes play the "Turanist" card?

How to explain.. When f. ex a communist politician "playing" or "using" a "nationalist card", they use this to satisfy or be popular among certain people, without themselves necessarily being nationalist. Take f. ex Milosevic.

yes the real magyars came from a region near the ural mountains i think but they were as finno-ugrians not related to altaic people like turks and mongolians.Actually finno-ugrian languages share more similarities with indoeuropean languages than altaic so all this turanism among some hungarians doesnt make any sense for me.They are genetically just like other eastern europeans and seem to be mostly descendants of slavic and some germanic people who were magyarized

The Hungarian puppet regime was unique in the region, since they were not nationalists.

Were the puppet regimes of the surrounding countries any different?

A Hungarian told me, that before the war the communist party was a small very insignificant party in Hungary. It was strangely, sort of the Arrow cross party that filled that gap, as a working-class party. And one reason for the animosity towards Jews, besides racial, was social. Jews were often businessmen, and owners industrial enterprises. And ironically the leadership of the communist party was mostly Jewish.
