It should not be morally acceptable. People should be free to do as they please, but just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Sex before marriage should always be frowned upon. But asking people to keep it in their pants or keep their legs closed is too much to ask.

I concur.
However, I was once involved in a relationship that involved the promise of marriage, yet she reneged on her promise and left me for another man while carrying our child, who grew-up calling this other man 'daddy'. If we had been formally married, I would have at least been able to participate in raising the little girl I was never able to be a father to. And to this day I am deeply troubled by this.
Please, don't let this nightmare happen to you.
