Iberians, North Africans (Caucasoid ones), and Latin American descendants.

This makes me immediately want to visit the Canary Islands because it just reminds me so much of Puerto Rico

Iberian + North African. They look like Cubans and Puerto Ricans, imo.

Well it's no surprise, since you guys descend from us. So far, me, you and Chestbrah have Canarian ancestry on this thread, I think there are a couple more that have some here. Canary Islands, Cuba and Puerto Rico are connected by blood.

There doesn't seem to be a population in the old world that is most similar to Canarians. The closest I can think of would be Iberians who scored the highest North African and I think the highest I've seen was 9% in western Iberia, but that's not typical for all of Iberia. So there really isn't a population that's very similar to us besides select Iberians. The only other population I can think of that is predominantly European but with some North African admixture would be Sicilians and Maltese, but their North African is very small, only a couple percent, nothing comparable. You agree?

Sicilians have a lot of West Asian compared to Canarians but some parts of Sicily do score higher North African than others.

Canarians are basically Iberians with added North African admixture. So our West Asian score is similar to Iberians. We don't have much West Asian. The North African percentages in Sicily are no where near large enough to compare to any Canarian. They are usually just a couple percent. The closest thing I've seen to Canarians would be the atypical select Iberians in western Iberia who can score as high as 9% North African. Of course that's not typical for all of Iberia, but there are a few select Iberians that do score that high. A select Iberian that did score 91% Euro, 9% NA would be just like me, I score 90% Euro, 10% NA, but they would not be like other Canarians that score higher NA like some that score 15% or 20%.

So I think Canarians are a unique population, we are basically just Iberians with extra North African admixture.

If you look at the averages per island, they are

88% Euro/12% NA for Gran Canaria,

    86% Euro/14% NA for Tenerife,

    84% Euro/ 16% NA for Lanzarote,

81% Euro/19% NA for El Hierro,

    79% Euro/ 21% NA for Fuerteventura,

79% Euro/ 21% NA for La Palma and

    58% Euro/ 42% NA for La Gomera.

Iberians usually range from 98% Euro/ 2% NA to 91% Euro/ 9% NA from what I've seen in studies, but not all are like that and there are many without NA ancestry. There are even Canarians without NA ancestry, but they are much fewer in number than in Iberia.

I'm actually very European as I'm 90 European/ 10% NA. So I'm on the lower side and more like the ones in your university pictures that are more like Iberians. The gentlemen in the rural farmer video I posted are more like the La Gomera average and are very Guanche admixed. So we range in phenotype as we are an admixed population.

Is that AncestryDNA? If so you are the same as me on ancestry I'm 90 euro and 10% NA

None look north african to me.

Most look like regular iberians and some individuals look like mixed carribeans/latinos. Also after checking some samples and papers, some canarians tend to have more SSA ancestry than guanche ancestry because of the slave trade especially the samples from La Gomera.
