While many people in the west know of the Aries, Taurus etc Western Zodiac, not so many know there is another piece of the puzzle.

That is the Eastern Zodiac which also contributes to the physical, spiritual / mental attributes of a person.

For some people though being born in 1982 for example may not mean you are under the influence of the Dog for example. If you are born at the very start of the year you may come under the influence of the previous animal year.

As a general rule of thumb though if you are born after the end of February you will definitely be under the influence of the listed animal sign for that year. The reason for the animal sign crossover is because the lunar year is slightly ahead of the solar year.

There are even slight influences on the physical form to an extent, namely in body-heat (some claim to 'see' the impression of the animal sign, others just glimmer the frequency of it). Year of the Ox people born in summer have a harder life, it is said, than those born in winter. The also don't get on with Year of the Dog types.

In history you can reveal hidden truths or reasoning behind certain things. One of these is the rulers of the 20th century. Churchill was Year of the Dog and his opponent was Hitler who was Year of the Ox. Also arrayed against him was Stalin, Year of the Tiger. Both Tigers and Dogs tend to get on, but both dislike Year of the Ox types (usually). This is simplifying things but the core attributes are undeniable.

For true accuracy you need to know the western zodiac signs at the least and all the other planetery influences at birth on a person though.

Thread years listed alone are not accurate enough to determine, as the OP even stated that it requires taking the lunar years into consideration.

The zodiac year does not begin or end on January 1 nor does it end on Dec 31. It straddles times in between.

As far as signs go, I do not believe in Chinese zodiacs for determining personality or fate. Hope the link was helpful though for those who take it more to heart.
