How 'Greek' is My Big Fat Greek Wedding?

It was just a parody of customs that the greek diaspora brought with them when they immigrated to America back in the 40's/50's.They seem pretty outdated nowadays even for them i assume.
Some things that still make sense :
1.Children take the name of their grandparents.For instance i am named after my father's mother and my sister after my mother's mother.Of course you can ignore this and give extra names to the child,or just not follow the custom at all.
2.Family ties are still warm in Greece.It's not alien if you have met your second cousins for example.
3.People still eat lamb in Easter.

And that was pretty much it.

I've met a second cousin when i was around 8 years old,but i didn't have the chance to meet them again.My family is pretty scarced so we never had the chance to be in constant contact with our relatives.I'm kinda jealous of people that had their grandparents near by,while growing up.I met mine only once a year.

I agree the feeling of being with cousins and family and mess with each other and cook and do things all together is just the best feeling there is.

So, I just watched the American film 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding', and was just wondering how Greek it is (if at all)? I assume it's exaggerated, but is it at all representative of Greek culture?

It would fit better the Jewish stereotype for sure
