Nokia unveils the N8

The Nokia N8 introduces a 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash, HD-quality video recording, film editing software and Dolby surround sound. All in a beautiful, aluminium design.

Nokia's competitor for the iPhone features the so-called Symbian 3 operating system, which allows the user to use several applications simultaneously.

The Nokia N8 should be available during 2010's third quarter, with a retail price of approx. 370€.

Even if Nokia makes it to Q3 2010, this won't magically compete with the iPhone. NOTHING competes with the iPhone because no other phone has its software. Symbian is a cruel joke and Nokia's profit margin shows just how cruel it is.

iPhone = rich content
BB = gov't & business (typically high security)
droid (htc, basically) = default smartphone
nokia = samsung + lg + sony; i.e. disparate and scatter shot models across every price point.

It would seem that Russian gadget blogger Eldar Murtaz agrees with you. I have no special sympathy for Nokia, but for one reason or the other I viscerally distrust Apple products.

I don't like Apple exclusivity agreements with quasi-monopolistic companies like Telefonica to sell the iPhone. It's pathetic how these old bastards use Apple to try to gain something of the hypothetic coolness of the Job's, which mainly was and still is an overhyped company responsible of crappy products like the worst mouse I ever held a little wireless one, a fucking joke of a mouse...if it were mine I would throw it thru the window the first day.
