Model Painting
A hobby of mine, today I finished a piece I call Crom (after the God of Conan):
Anyone else interested in model painting?
I believe that legends and myth are largely made of
“truth”, and indeed present aspects of it that can only be received in this mode; and long ago certain truths and modes of this kind were discovered and must always reappear.

Indeed it might be a basic characteristic of existence that those who would know it completely would perish, in which case the strength of a spirit should be measured according to how much of the “truth” one could still barely endure-or to put it more clearly, to what degree one would require it to be thinned down, shrouded, sweetened, blunted, falsified.

My brother and sister got a load of these little models when they were about ten or so, and I painted quite a few for em (I'd be about fifteen-seventeen sort of thing). We never played the way you're 'supposed' to play with them, but just used them as ordinary toys.
Ours were from the Mediaeval version, though we had a few little warriors from the space one too. Great fun, once you chuck out all the annoying dice and rules and crap...We had a lot of knights, archers, wood elves, and loads of lizardmen, commanded by big fat frogs who rode on dinosaurs.

I’m currently scowering the LOTR model range for figures I want to paint up as the Germanic Gods.
