Should Palestinians Convert En Masse To Judaism To Solve The Midde-East Conflict?
The conflict over Palestine has continued for over 100 years. At its heart it is a conflict between Jews and Palestinians for control of the same territory. One solution, known as the "Two-State Solution," is to divide the territory into a Jewish and a Palestinian state. This solution has so far not worked due to pan-Arabist and Islamist rejection of any independent Jewish state and Zionist rejection of Palestinian's right of self-determination -including defense- based upon national security and other issues.
The conflict is ironic in a number of ways. The identities of both Jews and Palestinians are both based upon different epochs in this same land; being based upon Judea and Palestina respectively. They are both just interpretations based on different time periods. Furthermore, in many cases Palestinians are as ethnically "Jewish" OR MORE SO than Jews themselves, as modern researches such Tsvi Misinai have determined that Jews and Palestinians share common Hebrew roots:
...the majority of the Palestinian people—including those with Israeli citizenship or residency, known variously as Arab citizens of Israel, Arab Israelis, Israeli Arabs, including the Bedouin Arabs of Israel—are descendants of the ancient Hebrews, as most of the world's Jewish ethnic divisions are.About 85% of Palestinians have Hebrew (Jewish, Samaritan and Israelite) roots. They left Judaism (or proto-Judaism) due to Roman, Byzantine, Arab and Turkish rule, especially due to the al-Haken Edict where;As a result of remaining in the Land of Israel, the ancestors of the Palestinians partially converted to Christianity during the Byzantine era. Later, with the coming of Islam, they were Islamized through a combination of mainly forced conversions, but also nominal conversions (that is, conversions for forms sake to derive benefits as Muslims, and avoid tributes owed by non-Muslims, in Muslim ruled lands) and others yet out of genuine theological conviction.
This is not just hearsay or speculation, every genetic test confirm the validity of these theories, for instance in High-resolution Y chromosome haplotypes of Israeli and Palestinian Arabs reveal geographic substructure and substantial overlap with haplotypes of Jews. Human Genetics Vol. 107, No. 6, (December 2000), pp. 630–641:In 1012, the al-Hakem Edict was issued, under which all Jews and Christians in Palestine were ordered to either convert to Islam or leave. This led to the majority of non-Hebrew origin Christians (i.e., foreign Christians) to leave Palestine, while over 90 per cent of Jews, Samaritans (also of Hebrew origin) and Hebrew-origin Christians converted and became Muslims. They would also become Musta'arabim (Arabized), acculturated into Arab language, custom and culture.
Put simply, modern Jews are mainly the descendants of Hebrew males admixed with European (and other) females at some point in time, while Palestinians are mainly descended from Hebrew females admixed with Arabian (and other) males. Both peoples are closely related AND share much common ancestry. Almost amazingly, these two "enemies" fighting over the same land, Palestinians and Jews are actually one and the same people. Once Palestinians discard the layers of Arabisation and Islamisation, artificially forced onto them over time, Palestinians are once again allowed to re-hebrewise and re-Judaise.Nebel found genetic evidence in support of historical records that "part, or perhaps the majority" of Muslim Palestinians descend from "local inhabitants, mainly Christians and Jews, who had converted after the Islamic conquest in the seventh century AD"
Hebrew and Judaism are, after all, indigenous to Palestine whereas Arabic and Islam are native to Arabia.
As Jews Palestinians will be allowed to all the rights and privileges Zionism offers, all Palestinians will be accepted -including all refugees under the Law of Return- into the greater Israel territory (created by the merging of Israel, the West Bank, Gaza and Jordan) benefiting both Jews and Palestinians socially, economically and culturally and truly creating a stronger Israeli people. Practically, Palestinians probably don't have to go through formal orthodox conversions as most are genetically -therefore in accordance with Jewish law- Jewish as they descend from Hebrew and Israelite females. Almost all Palestinians and Israeli Arabs speak Hebrew as a second language now anyway.
Palestinians should convert en masse to Judaism, thereby both solving the Middle-East conflict, and doubling the size and strength of a united Israel.
