Just got my cousin's 23andme back and he is a direct male descendent of my grandfather from Trapani Sicily. His YDNA is J2a1b1*...is this typical? Anyone know any more info about it or also have it in their family?

Haplogroup could be in Sicily due to the Elymians, who settled Trapani and were relatives of Trojans and Hittites.

Maybe. But there was Greek speaking parts in Sicilia, some might come later on. M92 has its roots in west Anatolia btw. She also needs that info.
