It seems that many Americans of a "WASP" background (usually only partially, most are mixed with non-British ancestries) like to consider themselves British, or rather, part of "Anglo-Saxon civilization". They often cite their "Anglo-Saxon blood" as "proof" of their claims. Obviously America is historically linked to Britain in many ways, including language, culture (partially), ancestry (only partially), and political ideals (partially, because of British philosophers like John Locke that influenced the USA's foundation).
But anyway, the real question: is this connection that "WASP" Americans attempt to forge between themselves and Britain simply a one-way thing, or are these feelings of fraternity reciprocated in Britain? Brits, do you consider "WASP" Americans to be your brothers?
There should be a poll along with this thread.
EDIT: This poll was addressed to British citizens only! Non-Brits should not vote.
