Lezginka is a mountain dance. It isn't only a dance. It's the soul of the Caucasian mountaineers. It is a mountain dance. People of the steppe can not dance this dance. Azerbaijanians have learnt it from the mountaineers but it doesn't not mean this dance must be common for all our neighbors. Even Russians (Cossaks) try to dance that dance and call it Cossak dance. Their parody of Lezginka is very funny for real mountaineers.

Lezginka is originally autochthonous Caucasus dance, but is shared by many Turkic (Balkar, Karachay, Kumyk, Azerbaijani etc) and Indo-European (Ossetians) ethnicities in Caucasus today, here are more Lezginka performed by Turkic peoples. Deal with it.
Kumyk
Karachay
Azerbaijani

Looks like Lezginka will even become an Israeli dance soon: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=726595434032505
Seriously what business do Israelis have dancing the Lezginka?
