Do many of u have a native background?

There are what you might call " family myths" to try to explain why family members are darker than you would expect of stereotypical British phenotypes. For example, my Dad and his brothers are darker than you might expect of people of largely English descent. They resemble their father, who looked like his mother, who was dark, also. My great- grandmother's name was Nettie Dove. On account of the name being after a bird, they said that they were dark because of some remote Indian ancestor. This despite the fact that my great- Uncle, John, never heard any mention of any Indian blood from either his mother ( the dark lady in question) or his father ( who, frankly, was quite blonde and Germanic looking). http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com.../UHP-1139.html This link goes to my great- grandmother and you can see for yourself the phenotype of her parents. I daresay they look quite English indeed, of the Atlantid/ Atlanto- Mediterranid sort.
