If she identifies as American I hold no grudge. However, if I ever had to immigrate, I'd teach my kids to identify as Greeks. The woman's ancestry could (and perhaps should) influence a person's identity if it's first generation (as in, his mothers) but keeping for more generations than that, it is just confusing the bloodline. For that I believe that only the paternal identity should be kept. That's the way I see it though, if someone grows up in his mother's country of feels closer to it, it's still his choice.
